Congratulations to Michelin North America, Canada for this recognition. 👏👏👏👏
I am honored to share that Michelin North America in Canada has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers of 2025. The recognition is a testament to the impactful employee engagement and giving initiatives at Michelin Canada. Our involvement with Special Olympics Nova Scotia, the North American Indigenous Games, Michelin Junior Bike, and the Acadia University Robotics FIRST LEGO League Challenge are examples that reflect our employees' commitment and compassion. Being named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers is a celebration of Michelin's people-first approach. At Michelin, we believe that our people are our greatest asset. It's this belief that has kept me with the company for nearly 20 years, and I'm proud to see it reflected in this honor. People are at the core of what we do. We help them achieve their goals, and they drive the company's success. Congratulations to our Canadian teams for this achievement! #CanadasTop100Employers #TopEmployers2025 #PeopleMakeItPossible #ProudTeam #Innovation #Excellence

Nowadays, we live in a world that offers a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) environment at its best for North American businesses and organizations engaged in manufacturing and trade. It is generally acknowledged that a second Trump Administration will likely bring changes to key US government policies, including a review of the current United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) due in 2026. This is obviously a critical milestone for the 3 neighboring Nations involved and heavily integrated in respective supply chains, with goods crossing borders multiple times before getting to end users. Last week, I was privileged to meet with a good number of industry players, diplomats and elected officials at the 2024 North American Manufacturing Conference in Ottawa. Shout out to the President & CEO of respective associations, Dennis Darby P.Eng., ICD.D (Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters), Jay Timmons (National Association of Manufacturers in the USA) and Alejandro Malagon Barragan (Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States), working a comprehensive agenda, and standing together to advocate for best trade policies that leverage the trilateral relationship, without inducing inflationary measures with (punitive) tariffs, but instead that strengthen our mutual economy. As part of this conference, I was delighted to meet with the US Ambassador to Canada, David L. Cohen, at his official residence in Ottawa (picture below). I particularly appreciated his remarks about the enduring relationship that our countries enjoy together with so many benefits. Later in the same week, I was thrilled to also meet with our Canadian Ambassador to the USA, Kirsten Dunhill, at a venue in Halifax (picture below), hosted by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, so well run by its President & CEO, Patrick Sullivan. Great conversation! She made compelling statements with factual examples about the strong ties between Canada and the USA. That relationship is the strongest in the world by most common measures, with clear incentives to double down on it. So despite the VUCA environment, let any change be a positive one!
