NEW: Internal Threads Internal threads allow you to spin up conversations in Slack from Pylon. It's great when you want to start a conversation with someone, but they primarily use Slack (e.g. engineers, product people or anyone who isn't living out of the support system). Common internal threads we are creating at Pylon: 1/ #bugs to report a potential bug 2/ #project channels to ask a team a question about a specific feature 3/ #feedback to report product feedback to the team It's been one of the most game-changing features we've released and we're so excited to share it with everyone. The time to migrate to Shopify's new extensibility checkout has ended! 😱 Yes, tomorrow, August 13th, is the last day to have your checkout migrated to the new checkout extensibility. To remind you... why all this? Until today, any Shopify Plus subscriber has had the advantage of modifying the checkout code. Yes, indeed, that's how you have the code. And that's why many necessary but poorly implemented customizations for the checkout project arose over time. Now Shopify proposes Checkout Extensibility, which, as the name suggests, talks about "extending" the checkout functionality using an editor. You can simply drag and drop to configure an application or go through a more complex programming process using Functions. Shopify echoed the complexity of this migration and, to facilitate all merchants, released an application called Checkout Blocks. This application allows you to perform many of the most traditional settings in the checkout but with the new format. It also left the version that was previously paid completely free. https://lnkd.in/emHEJkSi 👈 But tomorrow is the deadline to migrate at least the first step when the checkout code will be removed and completely replaced by the new editor. There is one more year before the next step, which involves stopping using scripts and more complex customizations in the Thank You Page and Order Page. The AI chatbot on Shopify's help site shows why the company is #1 at what they do. What I like about it: 1. The first message it sends tells you that it can connect you to the support team. Which is huge, seeing that other platforms make it feel like it's impossible to talk to a human. After some back and forth, it even shows a small button for a direct connection. 2. It saves you a lot of time browsing the endless pages around a topic. Shopify's docs have expanded a lot, and you may now have multiple pages about the same feature. (By the way, where did the scrollbar go?) 3. One of my clients thought he was talking to a human. 4. It connected me to a person quickly when I asked, and gave me the average waiting time. What I don't like about it: 1. The results may not always be accurate. However, this is usually solved with a bit of prompt engineering, or even pushing for an accurate answer. 2. There are people and businesses that get replaced. You now don't need to ask an expert. You can ask the bot and get an answer from the source. (This might be actually good if you're an expert and have a lot of clients that ask very basic questions all the time.) I also know a few groups on social media that help Shopify newbies (while selling them something), where 99% of the questions have no point of being asked there, anymore.
