VLSI Architectures for Fast Division Operation
Division operations in modern computation devices can be implemented using the Goldschmidt division algorithm, based on Euler product. This thesis presents three low-complexity fast division algorithms for real-time applications. The introduced methods are alternatives for the Euler product based algorithms. 128-bit hardware architectures were designed verified and tested on the Xilinx Virtex-6 vcx240t-1ff1156 FPGA device, for accuracy levels of upto 38 decimal places.
