What strategies can you use to keep your coding practices up to date?
I would be careful with all online resources, such as stackoverflow. Some answers are good there, but some are napkin sketches. Best to stay up to date with more reviewed material, where quality is filtered- such as publications and conferences (such as pydata etc )

What strategies can you use to keep your coding practices up to date?
I would advise searching youtube channels. There is very high quality content there for coding best practices. The views and likes provide a pretty transparent evaluation, and it's easy to see how fresh or popular the content is. With otger platforms it's not as transparent

Most important part of my education is seismic processing:
I was introduced to seismic processing in the last year of university. We had to create our own codes for every step of the processing workflow- from binning data into CMP's to spiking deconvolution and interpretation. This helped to understand it from inside out. I got an A- in that class.
- Analyzed data and/or programmed in Matlab®, SSG-Surfer, Seismic Unix, ArcExplorer and ArcGIS

- Analyzed data and/or programmed in Matlab®, SSG-Surfer, Seismic Unix, ArcExplorer and ArcGIS
- Developed a throughout understanding of major geophysical exploration and interpretation techniques including gravity, magnetics, radar, resistivity, well logging, sounding, refraction and reflection as well as remote sensing techniques.
- Excelled in vital Geological structures, mapping and mineralogy courses. Currently taking a Petrophysics course.
- Achieved a Faculty of Science Honor roll and Jason Lang Scholarship after undergoing a difficult program change

Science and Technology
I help junior, mid- and senior Data Scientists get started in their career. I help folks who are both new to Canada and to the field understand how the hiring market works and, importance of networking and connections. I go over what do the Tech Leads look for, help them study the right material and prep for the interview.

New Fractal Analysis technique aiding fracture geometry imaging
Geoconvention 2017 Presentation
Throughout scientific publications, microseismic data is often referred to in a derogatory fashion as “dots-inthe-box”.
Such choice of words can be understood- microseismic event locations are an arrangement of

Such choice of words can be understood- microseismic event locations are an arrangement of
points in 3 dimensions, and it is difficult for a human eye to distinguish relationships that are not extremely
pronounced. Better use of the spatial location data can, and has to be made to visualize such trends. The
information contained in them can provide a very useful tool in aiding a geoscientist in interpreting preexisting
natural fracture systems. It can be integrated with other datasets (seismic, petrophysical and
lithological) to derive a coherent model of system-wide behavior.
This report presents a novel technique of analyzing the spatial data based on fractal analysis methods. The
technique is applied on a hydraulic fracturing microseismic dataset and analyzed in conjunction with
seismic, well logs and engineering completions data. -
New fractal analysis technique aiding fracture geometry imaging
Western Inter-University Geoscience Conference Presentation
The Western Inter-University Geosciences Conference is an annual student-run conference that alternates between universities across Western Canada. WIUGC represents an opportunity for students from across Canada to share their research, ideas, and more. The University of Alberta's Earth and Atmospheric Science Department, and the Physics Department is delighted to be hosting WIUGC 2017 this coming year.
