As of 2023, there are approximately 5080 recruiting agencies in Canada with the majority running businesses in Ontario (just over 3000). Instead of hiding in the shadows, looking at that number and thinking how can we all possibly compete, I look at that number and see opportunity....opportunity to learn from others, piggy back on ideas, rally for the industry and do our parts to help in any way we can..one candidate & client at a time. I have a clear understanding and acceptance that I'm not for everyone (shocking lol)...and in case you need reminding, you aren't either...and that's ok! When a candidate is applying for a job and the average Job receives over 200 applications, don't worry about it. Not all of those people are qualified. Not all of those people will show up to the interview. Not all of those people will be prepared to sell themselves...and NONE of those people are you. Knowing who your competitors are is only part of the equation to success. Knowing who YOU are is the most important piece. Funding Alert: Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) The Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) program offers financial support to advanced manufacturing companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises across Ontario. Funding Amount: Loan: 15% to a maximum of $5 million; interest-free for up to 4 years. Grant: 30% of the 15% loan, up to $500K, may be forgiven if targets are met. Rural Ontario: Grants of 15% to a maximum of $500,000 for companies with less than 100 employees. Foreign Direct Investment: Up to $1,500,000 in grants for strategic projects.
