How can you establish trust and collaboration with others?
In any discussion, most people want to make sure they are heard. In my experience, too many people are listening for an opening to speak rather than truly listening to the other person and what they are actually saying. By making sure you are using active listening, you not only allow the other person to be heard, it gives you full understanding of their point of view. You will be seen as someone truly interested in the other person's issue and often, you will get information you wouldn't have otherwise. This is an undervalued skill that more people need to learn.
