Today we opened a 30-day public comment period for input on revisions to Directive 060: Upstream Petroleum Industry Flaring, Incinerating, and Venting. The CWB Foundation's Women of Steel™: Forging Forward Impact Report shows some great progress in getting more women into trades like welding, where they’re still pretty underrepresented. There's a big demand for welders, but not nearly enough people are getting certified, and women only make up 4.5% of the workforce. The Women of Steel project stepped in to help, offering hands-on training and support to 212 women across Canada. So far, 77% of them have either landed jobs or are continuing their welding education. As we creep closer to the halfway point of 2024, an analysis of the 50 municipalities tracked determined 76% haven't achieved 20% of their provincial targets. We need more funds for supportive infrastructure, lower interest rates and guaranteed financing for purpose built rentals immediately to have any chance of building our way out of this housing crisis. Also, as much as we need long-term care beds, including them in this analysis is nothing more than padding the numbers, we will take it if it means Build Faster Funding for our municipalities but long-term care beds are not making housing more attainable for young people. #ProvincialTargets #BuildFasterFund #HousingAnalysis #HousingCrisis

The only way to register for a program, like OHPA, is through our portal or partner websites. It’s important to know the warning signs of an energy scam. Here are some tips to make sure you stay safe and scam free ⤵️ ❌ Never let anyone come into your home to inspect your water heater, windows, furnace or anything else unless you have already scheduled an appointment with them. ❌ Refuse to give out personal information to someone at your door. This includes your banking information and personal information like your Social Insurance Number and your date or birth. ❌ If someone comes to your door offering an energy rebate, free product or claiming they can lower your energy bills by signing an agreement, do not sign anything. Instead, you should call your utility company directly to investigate. ❌ Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it’s likely a scam.
