Interesting correlation between this research derived from in depth conversations with CxO’s from around the globe as part of CGI’s Voice of the Client exercise and other research done elsewhere. E.g. NAO in its recent survey of AI usage in Government found that only 37% of government bodies had deployed AI. It is clear that AI is a transformational technology that is changing the way we do things with really impressive results, but significant barriers remain which limit large scale adoption. These include availability of funding, developing the skills needed, the cultural dimension of harnessing this technology, environmental concerns, and ethical/transparency concerns. Addressing these are going to be key to realising its full potential.

However, it's crucial to dissect these concerns with a balanced perspective. 👁️ The Article's Stance: It suggests that AI systems have already developed deceptive behaviors, citing examples like Cicero's gameplay in "Diplomacy" and ChatGPT-4's interactions on TaskRabbit. The fear is that these capabilities could evolve into more sinister actions, like committing fraud or manipulating elections. 🛠️ Analyzing the Context: These behaviors are often misunderstood. For instance, Cicero was designed to strategize within a game where deception is a legitimate tactic—not a reflection of general AI ethics. 📢 Latest news from the Chantier de la gouvernance des données The event, which was held at the Cité-des-Hospitalières in Montreal, brought together around twenty members of the data governance community of practice from the Montréal en commun program. This program brings together an innovation community led by the City of Montreal whose partners are experimenting with solutions in access to food, mobility and data and municipal regulations in a desire to rethink the metropolis. The projects are being implemented thanks to the $50 million award granted to the City by the Government of Canada as part of the Smart Cities Challenge. During the event, Open North’s team presented new resources in order to continue to increase the capacities of organizations in terms of data management, the ability to take informed decisions, and legal and ethical compliance in relationship with the Montreal Digital Data Charter. More precisely, 🖊️an online course on digital data partnership;  📑three guides on data governance;  ⚖️nine deliverables on social utility trusts, and; 🧪six case studies. 🙏 A big thank you to all present partners and more particularly to Solon, Collectif Récolte, Agence de mobilité durable, Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain and the Open Data and Data Strategies department of the Ville de Montréal for their involvement in the prioritization of challenges!
