Newcomers 🌏 and Graduates 🎓 are some of the most sought after consumers in Canada 🇨🇦 While we are well known for having the largest Graduate and GenZ audience in Canada many do not realize our reach with respect to new Canadians. New Canadians are more often than not in the process of opening their first bank account and credit card, selecting a mobile phone and internet provider, and signing their first automotive lease while they explore this country and everything it has to offer. 73% of Newcomers started using Snapchat in their home country and 42% of them are motivated to use Snapchat to stay connected with their friends, family and colleagues. In fact, when deciding on a first service provider in Canada (e.g. bank, cell phone, internet, home/renters insurance, car insurance, 79% of Newcomers seek recommendation from family and friends. The findings also confirm that Snapchat drives action among Newcomers, with 44% likely to take any action after seeing Snapchat content through chat with friends/family. Over the meal we discussed everything from how to sell through innovation and change in Canadian organizations to raspberry related return fraud. It was a lively discussion! One question came up around whether one uber card could be created to trump them all - and essentially replace wallets with several payment methods attached. We bounced a few ideas around. Consumers lose out on rewards and offers when they don't select the right card. 💡𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗔:  Add a feature to your digital wallet that: 🔮 Detects the card or program type and itemizes all the rewards, insurances, cash back and other benefits provided 🔮 Auto-detects the MCC, merchant name and other details of a purchase to query wallet for the optimal card/program combination to use for payment 🔮 Allow the user to choose whether to accept recommended card by default, or for wallet to surface recommendations and allow user to accept/change 🔮 Provide a consolidated report on all rewards earned as well as ongoing benefits. For example: Nov 28, 2024 extended warranty on Samsung Frame TV - expires Nov 28, 2025 🔮 Create a virtual card for rewards points that can be used on purchases and allow for users to elect to spend a points balance plus remainder on another payment method

Yesterday, at the very first Google Marketing Live Canada, I had the pleasure of speaking with Kesi Olafimihan from Scotia Bank and and Puja S. at Intuit about Being Agile & Breaking Down Silos and how marketers can support an agility mindset to drive impact with AI-powered marketing. Here are some my favourite takeaways: 1.Planning and Alignment: Clarity is key! Begin by establishing clear goals and making sure every department understands their roles and responsibilities. 2.Psychological Safety: Create an environment where individuals feel comfortable taking risks, learning from mistakes, and pivoting quickly. 3.Partnership-First Approach: Consider Google as an extension of your team and involve us early to foster a collaborative partnership.

Microsoft’s 2024 Work Trend Index report, released in partnership with LinkedIn, shares unique insights on #AI in the workplace. 62% of Canadian knowledge workers use #GenAI at work and 79% of AI users are bringing their own AI tools to work (BYOAI).
