Difference between SOR and NCR SORs and NCRs are basically the same thing, and consultants raise either an SOR or an NCR when there's a deviation from spec or drawing. However, the type of damage will determine whether the consultant raises an SOR or an NCR. If the damage can be controlled, the consultant can raise an SOR, whereas if the damage is uncontrollable, you'll get a NCR. Lets Understand by simple Example We have two rooms, A and B, with Tile A proposed for Room A and Tile B proposed for Room B, respectively. In the case that the masons fixed tile B in Room A and the work was finished, you'd get an NCR because the damage was out of control. However, in the case that the masons kept fixing wrong tiles and the consultant noticed, you'd get an SOR because the damage could be controlled with timely action.
