Not enough value is placed on “type” CRMs by the exploration and geochemical lab industries. Using synthetic or manufactured/simulated CRMs to monitor or control quality is not the best approach as these CRMs are usually easier to digest, are more homogeneous than real matrices and as a result provide an overly optimistic view of a lab’s performance, and more importantly the real variability of a geological ore reserve.

The term Rustbelt has been slowly replaced by Legacy Cities (and I would argue Legacy Communities to highlight the smaller communities) with in this broad post industrial landscape that stretches from as far west as parts of Wisconsin and Iowa to eastern New York and New Jersey. Regions within this large historic industrial swath hold unique and valuable characteristics to the well-being of the nation and can and should hold multiple titles that reflect that. Language specificity carries great weight what people understand or perceive about a place. That perception translates into how a place becomes valued.  Time to finally put to rest the inaccurate term of Rust Belt for a new and better future for the areas with in the region. It is a sad state of affairs that has developed over the last few years. A vibrant industry has turned into a potential industry. Okay, it is a great opportunity for the right group. Canfor says it is willing to part with its tenures with the right agreement. There are challenges. Investors need access to timber to justify the large investment in manufacturing. Investors need to know how much timber is potentially available, where the timber might be, and establish how to get operating permits. From all reports, this has proven difficult in recent years. The investigation will take time. In the meantime, the government says former forest workers can get training to work elsewhere. https://lnkd.in/gztYdjh5 Mining might be a good spot. Wildfire fighting is a seasonal job. This is not where communities expected to be with the one industry that has stood the test of highs and lows in the marketplace but could be relied on to manage their affairs well through it all.

Compared to August 2023, Alberta employment has increased by 11.4% (or +15,000).
