Based on 10,000 marketers in Canada, this is why people are unsubscribing from your emails. 🔹 53% are not interested anymore in your content. 🔹 22% never subscribed to receiving them. 🔹 17% receive too many emails already. 🔹 4% dislike the content sent (ouch) 🔹 4% have other reasons Unsubscribes are normal and can even be a good thing — people who are not interested will leave and you can focus on potential leads for your business. 🔹 What can you learn from this: Keep the “never subscribed” number as low as possible. Sometimes people forget they subscribed to a newsletter and click this when they unsubscribe. However, this can harm your sender’s reputation and email deliverability. Pay close attention to the “receive too many emails already” data. Among all the content people are getting, yours is not important or relevant enough for them to keep. 🔹 Are you creating relevant content for your audience? How are you measuring that success? Losing interest in a newsletter is also normal. People’s interests change and they have different priorities from time to time.
