The Data Engineering team at 296 Group has completed numerous data-centric projects --  when our client asked us to do a deep dive into Databricks, we were naturally skeptical. Too often, we have found that most data products are rarely as good as promised. After putting Databricks through rigorous testing and development, we are happy to report and eager to share that it has exceeded our expectations! Our client required us to load HUGE amounts of data – multi-billions of rows - from both first and third-party sources. We found that the capabilities and features Databricks provided effortlessly scaled for our needs, which was particularly impressive. Furthermore, Databricks offers robust, fine-grained access controls that ensure the security of sensitive data - a feature crucial for maintaining rigorous data governance standards. Additionally, the support provided by the Databricks Sales and Engineering teams has massively enhanced our overall experience. Databricks is now the primary data engine feeding our partner for their machine learning needs – we believe this collaboration will continue to improve the bottom-line results for our client.
