Why our clients are welcoming the "Try Before You Buy" model? Some clients feel the pressure to fill a strategy role but don’t have permanent headcount approval—some want to make sure the person is the right fit before committing longer term and contract-to-perm hiring was the right solution. Here’s why this approach is becoming increasingly popular and effective: 🔹 Reduced Risk of Hiring Mistakes: Did you know that hiring the wrong person can cost a business up to 30% of their annual salary in lost productivity, training, and turnover costs? Rushing to fill a critical role without a complete picture of fit and skills can lead to mismatches that impact team dynamics, project success, and even your bottom line. 🔹A Better Fit, Not a Fast Fix: With contract-to-perm, you have time to see how a candidate performs in real projects before making a long-term commitment. We’ve recently placed a number of talented strategy professionals in interim roles, and this setup allowed clients to assess if they were the right fit for the business—without the immediate pressure to hire permanently. Once the candidate settled into the team, both sides could make an informed decision on a permanent offer. 🔹 Talent Retention and Brand Building: For candidates, the contract-to-perm model also brings advantages. Often, high-caliber professionals want to assess the company culture and work environment before committing permanently, especially if they’re considering a lesser-known brand. Once they’re engaged in meaningful work and connect with the team, they’re more likely to stick around—and in some cases, they decide it’s where they want to be long-term. We have placed candidates into roles which they would not have taken on permanently straight off the bat as the client has a lessen known brand and reputation. In practice, we’re seeing clients make conversion decisions within 2-3 months, though timelines vary.
