About us

Zoomer owns and operates media across all platforms — TV, radio, print and digital — through leading brands: blogTO, Daily Hive, Curiocity, The Peak, MobileSyrup, Vision TV, The New Classical 96.3 FM, Zoomer Radio, Zoomer Magazine, the Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP), and more. Founded by television and media icon Moses Znaimer in 2008, Zoomer is a multiplatform media company devoted to creating content and experiences for Canada's most powerful audiences: the 18.1 million people aged 45-plus aka "Zoomers", and the 15.1 million Millennials and Gen Zs, coincidentally also called Zoomers, who follow in their footsteps. We reach 90% of English-speaking Canadians and have offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary. Wherever our audience is in Canada they're local and wherever they turn there's Zoomer.

ZoomerMedia has cleared a big hurdle for going private. Earlier today, shareholders of Zoomer overwhelmingly approved (99.5%) a plan to buy back common shares in order to take the company private. The arrangement is expected to take effect shortly after December 11, 2024 by final order of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, soon after which the common shares of ZoomerMedia will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange. “We’re excited to go private, to reduce the administrative and financial burdens of being public, and to take the company to the next level,” said Chief Operating Officer Omri Tintpulver. • A lovely surprise today from TVO host Nam Kiwanuka who wrote a personal appreciation of our Founder + CEO Moses Znaimer. Nam started as an intern at MuchMusic before being hired and looks back on Moses’ television innovations in the 70s, 80s + 90s that democratized the medium, focused on local news and showed diversity on TV long before it was politically correct or corporately mandated. How many of you recorded a video @ Speakers Corner or stood outside those iconic windows at 299 Queen St. West to catch a glimpse of your favourite star? We'd love to see your memories. Post them here or visit the VoxBox at the ZoomerPlex in Liberty Village. https://lnkd.in/gdGhJMXR

  • ZoomerMedia insights that aren't scary: When we conducted a major survey to understand the current attitudes and intentions of our 45+ audience towards travel, we discovered some facts that may challenge assumptions about this eager-to-spend group. For example, did you know that 95% of the 45+ Zoomer audience plans to book an out-of-country trip in the next 2 years? And when ranking travel motivations, destination topped the list, sure, but scenery came a close second with over 50% of respondents noting it's as an essential consideration. It even placed ahead of weather and amenities.
