How do your firefighters train daily? Most firefighters participate in live fire training once per year. This is great and should continue, but what do you do on the other 364 days of the year? Sit in front of a 2D screen running through scenarios? Play with action figures on a big table? Draw outlines of buildings in the parking lot with chalk? There's nothing wrong with these training solutions if we lived in the 60's. But today, firefighters should have access to the same training as professional athletes. That solution is VR. Whether you're in the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, or most other major leagues, you use VR to train weekly, if not daily. Firefighters and our first responders should have the same access to interactive and impactful training. Contact XpertVR or David Stark ([email protected]) to learn more!

In July 2023, The Calgary Fire Department rolled out a virtual reality (VR) program to help educate Calgarians on how to handle real-life situations in a safe and controlled manner. The program helps participants identify common hazards in a virtual home and mitigate a stove-top fire, the leading cause of residential fires in the city. These real-life situations can be experienced in a safe manner, providing a greater learning impact than traditional fire safety education methods. XpertFire software supports training for firefighters, public education/community engagement efforts, as well support for recruitment! As more departments adopt our technology, it will ensure that students, staff, educators and community members will benefit from this immersive learning experience! Take a Moment to Remember On Remembrance Day, let’s take a collective moment of silence. Today, we remember the sacrifices that allow us to live with the freedoms we have and the responsibility we carry to protect those rights for others. This short video is a simple reminder: pause, take a breath, and reflect on what this day represents. As we honour those who gave everything for a just, free world, let’s commit to ensuring those values are accessible to all. #RemembranceDay #MomentOfSilence #HonorAndRemember #LestWeForget

Is VR safe for your eyes? Can you wear glasses with a VR headset? These are questions we get all the time at XpertVR, and it’s great to see more research coming out to answer them. The latest insights from eye health professionals confirm that VR generally doesn’t pose long-term risks. Like your computer or phone, VR can lead to temporary eye strain and dryness, so remember to take regular breaks. Following the “20-20-20 rule” (look 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes) is a great way to keep your eyes feeling comfortable. Another common question: Can I wear glasses in VR? The answer mostly depends on your frames. Most glasses will fit into VR headsets, especially if designed with a glasses spacer. However, very large frames may have trouble fitting. But prescription strength is no issue—our Co-Founder, Evan wore VR comfortably with a -16 prescription, even pulling 24+ hour sessions! Got more questions about VR? We’re always happy to help! #VR #EyeHealth #XpertVR #Innovation

"Teamwork's critically important to ensure that we can provide the level of response that our community deserves and expects." The Tallahassee International Airport annually conducts exercises to test its emergency response procedures. Every third year, they do a fullscale field exercise and that's what's in the video below. ⬇️ Bringing all the different entities, individuals and agencies together. A full-scale mock disaster exercise - testing the community's ability to respond to an aviation-related disaster. Now, imagine being able to train on this full-scale disaster every single day. Bringing people into the same virtual space, agencies aligned. This technology is available and at your disposal... VR reduces errors, increases performance for surgeons 🔥 Reduction in Errors: Studies show that trainees using VR simulators made 90% fewer errors in actual surgeries compared to those who received traditional training. Increased Performance: Residents who trained with VR demonstrated up to 230% improvement in certain technical skills over those who only received conventional education. Virtual reality (VR) is revolutionizing surgical training by providing an immersive, risk-free environment for students to practice complex procedures. VR simulators allow trainees to perform realistic surgeries, enhancing their technical skills, decision-making, and hand-eye coordination. Unlike traditional methods, VR offers the flexibility of repeated practice, allowing residents to refine their abilities without the pressure of real-life consequences. As VR technology evolves, it promises to further enhance surgical education, improving outcomes and boosting surgeon confidence. 🔥 Imagine if firefighter training meant real-world experience without the real-world risks. Picture this: your entire team, incident commander included, suited up—virtually. Training side-by-side, refining every move, and getting extra reps in without exposure to hazardous chemicals or injury. At XpertVR, we believe that preparedness shouldn’t come with hidden dangers. Our VR simulations provide a safe, immersive environment where firefighters can master skills under realistic conditions, transforming training into an experience that’s as engaging as it is effective. Ready to experience training that builds confidence, camaraderie, and capability? Let’s talk about how we’re helping emergency response teams level up. 🔹 #VirtualReality #FirefighterTraining #EmergencyResponse #VRTraining #XpertVR

🔥 How Virtual Reality is Transforming Firefighter Training 🔥 At XpertVR, we believe in leveraging VR to create safe, realistic training experiences for firefighters. This recent studies (shared with us by Scott D. Ramey) show VR simulations can elevate training for incident commanders by: 1. Promoting goal-oriented decision-making in high-stress scenarios. 2. Improving situational awareness and communication through realistic fireground and live-burn simulations. 3. Helping firefighters plan and assess rapidly evolving situations, from house fires to road collisions. As VR technology evolves, we’re excited to support firefighters with immersive, impactful training solutions that prepare them for the unexpected. #VRTraining #FireService #Innovation #Safety #XpertVR

Firefighters 1 - Police 0 How many firefighting trick-or-treaters did you see last night? Our CEO, Evan Sitler-Bates, had 78 trick-or-treaters visit his house, 2 of whom were firefighters. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the friendly jokes you can make), he did not see any kids dressed as police officers or paramedics. What was the most memorable costume at your house?
