Having just returned home from 2 weeks in Asia (Hong Kong Fintech Week and Devcon in Bangkok) and I've got some news .. 🌐 Web3 Toronto has now gone Global: Introducing Web3 Cities Network and the Web3 Impact Global Tour!   -- Web3 Impact .. What's that?! The Web3 Impact Global Event Series is for builders, investors, creatives and startups focused on doing real good business! The event series is an opportunity to have deep dive discussions on Web3 and Impact, or as I (newly) like to say, 'if it's not Impact it's not Web3!' (honestly, what's the point of reinventing the economy and the world financial system around decentralized, transparent, incentives aligned blockchain technology if it's going to be more Web2?!)   -- We could not have done this without partnership, and I wanted to shoutout our partner Libera Global AI and Max Ward - Libera is a massive impact player in Web3 and one of the few and upcoming real Web3 Impact startups. Libera is building ai backed data mining in the global south for small merchants (missing data from the global data marketplace) focused on Impact and sharing the upside with small merchants starting in South Eastern Asia! And here's a quick recap: -- ✈️ Our First Stop: Hong Kong   Event #1 was kicked off in Hong Kong, with a private dinner during Hong Kong Fintech Week with Web3 founders and investors against the iconic backdrop of Victoria Harbour. We had 27 Web3 Impact founders and investors that joined us for a private Web3 Impact dinner.   ✈️ Our Second Stop: Bangkok   Continuing on the Web3 Impact World Tour, our next stop was Bangkok, where during Devcon, we hosted a lively event with 65+ guests, 3 amazing panelists, an incredible DJ and a delicious 'family style' dinner. -- Speakers on our panel were:   Max Ward, CEO of Libera Global AI Mario Alberto Casiraghi , Co-Founder SingularityDAO Labs Ian Foley, Managing Partner Infrastructure Ventures Moderator: Landon Gardner, Web3 Cities Network & Web3 Toronto (Web3TO) Our discussions focused around Web3 Impact from the perspective of: incubation/tokenization, startup and investor - from the expertise of each of the speakers.   Thanks for all those that did attend, and we look forward to seeing you in the coming months to continue to build real good businesses in Web3! Growing up I'd say 'building an empire' was one of the most respected thing you could do .. I’d argue it’s a lot more fun (and useful/wanted & needed) to build a diverse and bubbling ecosystem with innovation and entrepreneurship at it's heart. If you’re new to Web3 in Toronto here’s the scoop - Toronto’s got something real special in Web3 going on - and has been for a long time .. and now the secret is getting out! -- It’s been a (busy) few weeks since Canada Crypto Week wrapped up with the Web3 Toronto Events Series (6 events in 7 days!).. And what a great success! To the 550+ plus in attendance - thank you for attending and making the week unforgettable! A huge thank you to our amazing partners!
