We are proud to support local health care close to home by raising funds for WDMH and Dundas Manor.

About us

The WDMH Foundation was formed in December of 1993 to help finance the capital needs of the hospital. In the past, the Foundations has successfully raised funds for a new ophthalmology clinic; a variety of new operating room equipment; a seven-station state-of-the-art hemodialysis unit; and $15 million for a $59 million expansion and redevelopment project. The Winchester District Memorial Hospital is a full-service community hospital in the Township of North Dundas, serving a catchment area of about 75 km with a population of approximately 90,000 since 1948. The Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) funds the hospital’s operating budget from provincial funds. However replacement or purchase of diagnostic and other medical equipment and some program costs must come from other sources. We are extremely grateful to our friends who support our projects with gifts of cash, securities and bequests as well as gifts-in-kind, services and many volunteer hours!

Updates

  • The Morrisburg & District Lions Club is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. And they are doing what they’ve done for six decades – giving back to their community! As part of their celebrations, the Lions recently distributed $20,000 to six local charities, including $2,500 to the WDMH Foundation. Funds will be directed to the Expanding the Circle of Compassionate Care campaign in support of the new Dundas Manor. We want to say thank you to the Lions for 75 years of incredible service in Morrisburg. This is actually not the first time that the Lions Club has given a donation for the new Dundas Manor. They are truly helping to keep the magic going for the deserving residents. Thank you!

  • There were some great cross-ice passes, a few jabs here and there, and even the odd breakaway, at the WDMH Foundation’s All-Stars Hockey Game in Winchester on November 2nd. There was also a lot of laughter and many, many autographs – thanks to the NHL alumni who joined local players on the ice. The final score doesn’t matter – but the final tally raised for the WDMH Foundation’s Family Care Fund certainly does. This just in! $53,917.18 was raised to support families just like yours, wherever the need is greatest at WDMH.
