About us
Our vision, Creative City: Block by Block is to connect every Toronto neighbourhood with the transformative social and economic benefits of the arts. Toronto Arts Foundation, a charitable organization since 1995, provides the opportunity for individuals, private and public foundations, corporations and government agencies to invest in and strengthen the arts in Toronto. The fact is the arts are business – big business. The creative industry's contribution to Ontario's GDP is greater than that of the energy industry, and the agriculture, forestry and mining sectors combined. Arts and culture contribute $11.3 billion annually to Toronto's GDP. Over 174,000 Torontonians work in the culture sector and 600,000 people in the country belong to the sector. Canadians spend more than twice as much on live performances in the performing arts than on sports events. Through sponsorships, legacy gifts and donations, we give voice to the arts, shine the spotlight on Toronto's exceptional talent and connect communities to the arts. Please donate to help us grow a city of art.

How can we ensure a thriving future for Canada's arts organizations? Kelly Langgard, Director & CEO of Toronto Arts Council and Foundation, shares her insights in Maclean's magazine on what it takes to save and sustain the arts in Canada. "It's crucial that Canadians show up - to attend events and advocate for the value of culture in our everyday lives. The arts are how we share our stories and find common ground in a world that often feels more divided by the day." - Kelly Langgard 📖 Read the inspiring article from Kelly Langgard and learn how we can all play a role in keeping the arts alive. https://lnkd.in/gNpgcp_c #TorontoArts #BelieveInArt #ArtsAdvocacy #SupportTheArts #Macleans

This #GivingTuesday, we invite you to imagine what’s possible when we believe in art. Until December 3rd, board members of the Toronto Arts Council and Foundation are MATCHING up to $25,000 in gifts in support of a vibrant, creative, and inclusive Toronto. This year alone, we have helped over 1,000 artists with professional development, mentorship, education, and paid work opportunities, provided over 100 arts leaders with free education sessions, ensured over 90,000 Torontonians had access to free, high-quality arts experiences in their communities, and saw over $130,000 provided directly to artists recognizing their vital work and vision. “We at Toronto Arts Council and Foundation are dreamers as much as we are doers. We want to rally our supporters and communities to imagine what’s possible and to share in our ambition of a brighter future for the arts and for our city.” - Dr. Sara Diamond, Chair, Toronto Arts Foundation & Celia Smith, Chair, Toronto Arts Council Join us in creating a future that is full of potential for Toronto’s artists and communities. Toronto Arts Foundation reposted this
The FIRST EVER renewed "Mayor's Evening for the Arts: In Bloom Gala" is in the books. Here were some highlights: ✅ We raised WELL OVER $1 million to support Toronto's artists ✅ We increased the amount of net dollars going to the cause, thanks to the incredible work of the team ✅ We spent TRIPLE previous years' budget on arts and artists ✅ We opened the door to over 300 of Toronto's artists and arts leaders, making for a publicly accessible gala event that wasn't just FOR community - it was WITH community ✅ Incredible sponsors like MOD Developments, Castlepoint Numa, CIBC, Carpenter's Local 27, The Rossy Foundation, Nieuport Aviation, FIJI Water and Encore made the event possible with their incredible contributions ✅ We raised enough funds to provide support for THIRTEEN newcomer artists onsite, thanks to our dedicated attendees with the support of the amazing Layne "The Auctionista"! A massive congrats to my team, including Courtney Fiddis, Jaclyn Rodrigues, Sarah Gladki, Lucy Reddy, Sophie B., Selina McCallum, Clau Souza, Alexandra Loewen, Alandra McKirdy, and Liz Tsui who worked so unbelievably hard for the last several months to bring this renewed vision to life. Now, we plan for the next one! 🎉
