TimberFever is a design-build competition started in Toronto in 2015 for students in Architecture and Engineering programs across Canada and the US. Every year, students gather to design and build their structures which are then put on public display. For the first time ever, the competition was held virtually in 2020 which allowed students from across Canada and the US to participate remotely. The 2021 competition will once again be held virtually with students across Canada and the US. Great opportunity to meet other students, network with industry mentors, and there are cash prizes!

Last week, our Restoration and Stewardship Coordinator, Teri Hoang, presented at the 10th Annual TimberFever hosted at Toronto Metropolitan University. She had an incredible time speaking to students about the benefits of using sustainably sourced wood as a building material, and the impact wood's carbon storage has on climate change! #ItTakesAForest

Rothoblaas was delighted to partnered up with these young minds from TimberFever. I and Arun attended this event over last weekend and captured these marvelous pieces of architecture. I was blown away by the sheer dedication and enthusiasm of these students. From inception of an idea, engineered close to perfection and finally erecting it to be not only a stable structure but aesthetically pleasing as well, surely deserves an applause.
