Ken McCoy, a veteran of the Second World War, shares his reflections on sacrifice, service, and the lasting echoes of war. As Remembrance Day approaches, Ken reminds us of the sacrifices made not only on the battlefield but also on the home front. “War is an uncertain thing, and you don’t want to go into it,” he says. We wear the poppy as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom. Inspired by Lt. Col. John McCrae’s In Flanders Fields, the red poppy honours those who served and continue to serve. Each poppy also supports veterans and their families through the Royal Canadian Legion. This November, let’s wear our poppies with pride and gratitude. Lest we forget. Finish this sentence.
