This past week, Derek and I had the privilege of honoring Shelley Willick at her retirement presentation. It’s been such an honor working alongside her in the Property and Casualty insurance industry. Her remarkable career with SMI (Sandbox Mutual Insurance) has left an indelible mark on all who’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with her. On behalf of the Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan, Derek Lothian and I were thrilled to present this gift and share a few words about the incredible legacy she’s leaving behind. Shelley, your dedication, expertise, and leadership have been an inspiration to many. Wishing you all the best as you embark on this exciting new chapter—enjoy every moment of your well-earned retirement! Congratulations to Rob Jones who was named incoming CEO! Atlas York Insurance and I couldn't be more thrilled to see that someone with shared values will be leading Sandbox Mutual Insurance.
Last week, the IBAS board of directors had the opportunity to celebrate the career and contributions of outgoing Sandbox Mutual Insurance President & CEO Shelley Willick, who is retiring this month. Shelley has been a force in the industry, leading the recent transformation of the now-116-year-old homegrown insurance company while remaining a steadfast champion of the broker channel right across Canada. Thank you, Shelley, for all you’ve done for IBAS and its members — and our best wishes on a well-deserved ‘next chapter!’
