About us
For over 75 years, Pioneer Construction has provided quality construction services to valued customers. An industry leader across Northern Ontario with six strategic locations, we are the gateway to the north. We have built thousands of kilometers of roads and highways for private groups, municipalities and the MTO: helping the economy and connecting people. While our primary focus is road construction, technical proficiency and ingenuity has allowed us to also service all areas of heavy construction. This includes construction and rehabilitation of dams, design and operation of open pit mines, mining services, production of custom aggregate and asphalt, railroad applications, large-scale excavation, power projects, airports and First Nations joint ventures. For over 25 years, we have also maintained Ontario’s roads and highways each summer and winter for local municipalities and the MTO. This integrated services approach provides much flexibility to offer diverse high-quality solutions to a broad customer base. A proudly Canadian family business, we are differentiated in our accountability to customers, our focus on quality, concern for the well-being of all employees, and strong commitment to give back to communities where we work. Pioneer grew rapidly from a single northern community base to cross-Ontario operations by reinvesting not only in our company, but our teams and home communities. We continue to create challenging, rewarding, safe and enjoyable work experiences where employees thrive. One of our employees at Pioneer Construction Kenora location is seeking support for his son and family. Joseph is an 11-year-old boy with a rare Cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the lacrimal gland. He needs to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for 6-8 weeks for Proton Beam radiation therapy as it is the safest form of radiation therapy for his eye. During the last few weeks, Joseph’s parents, Chris and Trista have missed quite a lot of work. They hope to raise enough funds so that there is no need for the family to worry about how they are going to pay normal bills while also having the expense of the medical trip. This is going to have a massive effect on their entire family and Joseph’s ability to be a “normal” kid. A few weeks ago, our team at Pioneer Construction Inc. and Fisher Wavy Inc. in the Sudbury area participated in our own fundraising walk for the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimers #IGWalkForAlz. For our walk, the team went to the The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Sudbury & District Animal Centre and spent some time with 7-year-old Ellie, and two adorable puppies, Susan and Barbara. We took the three dogs for a walk around the Collège Boréal campus for an hour and raised $300 for the Alzheimers Society Sudbury. Ellie is a excitable dog who has been at the SPCA for 3 months and is looking for her new furever home! She is truly a sweetheart. The two puppies will be available for adoption soon! If you’re interested in adopting or meeting Ellie, call or visit the SPCA.
