Launching the next generation of industry-ready talent for the Canadian Medical Technology sector
About us
The MedTech Talent Accelerator is a collaboration between Ryerson, McGill, Dalhousie, University of Calgary, University of Toronto, Biomedical Zone, Medtech Canada, and its member companies. It is an innovative solution to the shortage of skilled and experienced employees in the area of medical technologies. The Accelerator works to solve this problem by implementing a training program designed to develop new talent that is industry-ready for the Canadian Medical Technology Sector. Graduate students(MSc & PhD) from an array of relevant graduate programs are introduced to engage in sector-specific exposure, training and experiential learning opportunities. Our goal through this program is to provide industry focused skills and training over three distinct phases of this NSERC CREATE program: Exposure, Training and Experience. Exposure to the medical technology sector through various R&D innovation seminars and Hackathon, training through the R&D Industrial training course including professional development and EDI activities and Job Shadowing, and gain experience through the R&D internships and mentorships.. Graduates of this program will develop a strong understanding of the Canadian Medical Technology Sector, its product development processes and challenges, and obtain hands-on experience to be ready to immediately transition to Industry.

2nd place, not too bad! I am super thankful for my team, team 3, including Juan Duran and Editha Renesteen and Sara Nejati. We really did a great job at showing how HeartScore can change the game in CAD prevention, and I can't be more proud of the hours of grind we put into this. Now that the future awaits for techs like the one we proposed, let's see what the future holds for us.
