  • This holiday season, Maxfield is proud to support the Airdrie Food Bank in their mission to fight hunger and support those in need in our community. Together, we donated over 2050 lbs. of food and $4275.00 in cash to help ensure that everyone has access to nutritious meals during this special time of year. We believe in giving back and we are inspired by the incredible work the Airdrie Food Bank does every day. Supporting our community is at the heart of what we do, and we encourage others to join us in making a difference. #CommunitySupport #GivingBack #AirdrieFoodBank #MakingADifference

Maxfield's History Maxfield's roots started in 1962 as Western Rock Bit. WRB established a fabricating and forging facility in Calgary assembling drill bits under a license agreement with Hughes Tools out of Texas. Following certifications as an ASME Pressure Vessel Manufacturer, the company expanded into forging cylinders for the propane industry along with manufacturing 1,000 USWG domestic propane tanks as well as propane storage tanks in sizes 5,000 USWG to 18,000 USWG. In 1983 the company expanded to a 60,000 sq foot facility in Crossfield to meet the demands for larger pressure vessels. This facility is adjacent to a rail siding and has direct access to major highways throughout Canada. Other product offerings now include B-Trains and Trailers specifically engineered and designed to transport Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), Natural Gas Liquids (NGL), Ammonia (NH3), and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). In 1999, WRB's shareholders elected to liquidate the Crossfield manufacturing facility by selling to RNG Pro-Tech. On March 18, 2002, three former employees of WRB and a few other industry veterans, founded Maxfield Inc. by purchasing the assets from RNG Pro-Tech. Starting with 27 employees, Maxfield focused on providing high quality, custom designed, custom engineered products manufactured for the compressed gas industry. In 2005 a 12,000 sq. foot facility was opened in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for the purpose of servicing the NH3 market and to pursue other growth opportunities in the LPG market. This was followed by a 8,000 sq. foot facility in Brandon to service the regional markets in Manitoba. In 2009 Maxfield added 42,000 sq. feet to its Crossfield location, which included a transportation truck shop, bringing the complex to a capacity of 114,000 sq. feet. Maxfield has the the largest inventory of active Transport Canada Registration Numbers for TC331 specification trailers in Canada. More recently, Maxfield opened a 10,000 sq. foot shop in Leduc, Alberta in January of 2023 to expand its ability to service the compressed gas market closer to the head office in Crossfield. On January 26th, 2018, TerraVest Industries acquired all outstanding shares of Maxfield Inc. which provided the company the opportunity to continue its commitment to its large list of businesses and customers. Now officially Maxfield LP, the company continues to be recognized as a leading manufacturer in providing pressure vessel storage and transportation equipment to the compressed gas industry for agricultural as well as Oil & Gas.

  • Crafting Custom Pressure Vessels: Innovation in Action. It is one thing to build LPG (Liquid Propane Gas) pressure vessels and yet another to customize them to fit some unique operating conditions. These vessels will provide 40% more capacity yet were designed and placed in the original footprint which didn’t negatively impact parking access. Final elevation for installation was over 6000 feet. The vessels are equipped with redundant safety shutdown protection systems enabling Sunshine Village to operate with full confidence of being in a safe environment. Considering the recent unfortunate event in Jasper, the use of vacuum purging to commission tanks vs flaring reduced the risk during extreme fire conditions. This process was also environmentally friendly as it eliminated unnecessary flaring of propane vapour. The LPG storage vessels will supply the energy required to heat the hotel, staff accommodations, restaurants, and the other associated facilities on this property.    This project started many months ago with planning, engineering designs, as well as the manufacturing. The final steps of transporting, installing, and commissioning occurred over 9 days in early August. Thank you to the team at NCSG for their assistance as well as the excellent support from the team at Sunshine Village. The only thing left is to stop by several times during the ski season to make sure everything is operating properly.    #sunshinevillage #NCSG #teamwork #pressurevessels
