Members of the hospital’s Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors and Patient & Family Advisory Committee were joined by staff to conduct the latest Safety Leadership Rounds yesterday. The purpose is to identify patient and staff safety risk issues from a staff perspective, implement concrete actions in a timely manner, improve communication between staff and management, and further enhance a patient safety culture at KDH.

It’s International Volunteer Day (December 5) and KDH has some of the best volunteers in the world! Our wonderful volunteers play many important roles at KDH, including greeting people in the ER, assisting on the Interim Long-Term Care/Convalescent Care unit, providing valuable input to improve the patient experience and much more. KDH held its annual Retirement and Long Service Awards Banquet last night. It was wonderful to recognize staff and physicians for 10, 15, 20, 25 and even 35 years of service in 2024! It’s Nurse Practitioner (NP) Week (November 10 – 16) and KDH would like to recognize the important role of NPs in healthcare. From providing compassionate care and improving outcomes, NPs make a real difference every day. They can diagnose patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
