December 17 is Anti-Bullying Day—a day to amplify the important work of Bullying Canada (https://lnkd.in/dpmDaMz), an organization dedicated to creating safer spaces and providing lasting support for bullied youth and their communities. Through their wrap-around mental health service, BullyingCanada’s trained support volunteers and professional counsellors work one-on-one with bullied youth, their parents, and local supports for as long as it takes to bring an end to the bullying and help them heal. This day serves as a powerful reminder that whether at school, at home, in the community, or online, we all have a role in fostering safe and respectful spaces. #AntiBullyingDay #BullyingCanada #RespectAndKindness

As we wrap up our reflections on #PRIDoC24 in Kaurna Country, Australia, we’re highlighting two unforgettable moments that encapsulated the spirit of the gathering. The Cultural Sharing Night was a vibrant celebration of tradition, community, and connection. Participants came together to honour the richness of Indigenous cultures through song, dance, and storytelling. During the Gift Giving Ceremony at the closing ceremonies, IPAC President Dr. Ojistoh Horn was presented with a traditional blanket. This heartfelt gesture symbolized respect, gratitude, the deep bonds formed throughout the week, and the enduring relationships grounded in reciprocity, kinship, and the shared journey of healing and wellness. #CulturalSharing #IndigenousHealth #IndigenousDoctors

On November 25, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) hosted a virtual panel on Indigenous allyship and culturally safe care, moderated by Dr. Joss Reimer. Recently ended an amazing week in Kaurna Country celebrating Indigenous medical excellence around the Pacific Rim with over 80 delegates from the Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada IPAC, including Métis medical student Sydney Forbes, who presented on her work co-leading Dalhousie University’s Doctor-for-a-Day program. The expertise, mentorship, culture, language, and community at this biennial gathering is nothing short of incredible. Highly recommended for any Indigenous physician and medical learner that is looking to bolster their knowledge, skills, and well-being.
