It was an exciting year for RISE, Great Canadian Entertainment’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging program. This year started with the launch of our five Team Member Resource Groups: EnAble, Black & Indigenous Excellence, Pride, Mosaic, and Women’s Resource Group. We held Fireside Chats to speak with women leaders in the gaming industry which included Shannon McCallum, Pauline A., Melissa A. and Shan Shan Vuong, and further developed our capabilities enterprise-wide via DEIB training with three modules for all team members, plus one inclusive leadership training for all our people leaders. We held events to celebrate our diverse team, sent newsletters to spotlight days of significance, and celebrated our first RISE Day during our annual Team Member Appreciation Week! Thank you for being a part of our DEIB journey. We look forward to working together to make 2025 an even more inclusive and meaningful year. #RISE #YearInReview #DEIB

Saturday wrapped up our annual PROUD Week of Giving holiday campaign. 🎄❄ Each year, Great Canadian destinations kick-off the holiday season of giving by performing acts of kindness and generosity, every day, for the first 7 days in December. This year was a holiday hit as all destinations across Canada participated – volunteering at local organizations, delivering coffee to first responders, playing cards & games to seniors centres, free concert tickets for students & local businesses, as well as many other amazing initiatives! We love to see the smiles that our Week of Giving campaign brings to everyone’s faces, and it’s Great Canadian’s way of getting into the holiday spirit. #PROUD #WeekOfGiving

Today is National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. It is a day where we remember the senseless murders of 14 women at Polytechnique Montréal. We mourn the lives lost to femicide, a crime that continues to claim the lives of women and girls worldwide. We are reminded of the deep-seated gender inequalities that still exist today.

Today on International Day of Persons with Disabilities we are reminded of the important role that Great Canadian Entertainment plays in creating a more inclusive space for our team members and guests. This past January, we launched our EnAble Team Member Resource Group. EnAble is open to all GCE team members with disabilities and allies, to share our lived experiences and be champions of change.

November 20 is Transgender Day of Remembrance. On this day we remember the Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary people whose lives are forever altered by anti-transgender violence and hate. We honour those who lost their lives to anti-transgender violence as we stand alongside our transgender community.

Yesterday, the Toronto Region Board of Trade hosted an insightful symposium, “Broken Budgets: Fixing our Cities for the Future” which brought together both public and private sector business and government leaders from around the world, to discuss unique solutions with the vision of protecting the prosperity of our municipalities. Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto was proud to attend, recognizing that the City of Toronto receives nearly $30 million annually, through OLG, as their share of gaming revenue from the property, as well as participating in a Community Benefits Agreement with the City of Toronto which helps ensure local procurement and hiring, amongst other local benefits. Thank you for hosting the symposium, Giles Gherson and the Toronto Region Board of Trade team, and everyone that attended. . . QUICK FACT: Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto has generated over $4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣million for the City of Toronto, paid through OLG, since gaming was introduced at the site in 2000. 🤯

We were thrilled to host OLG President and CEO, Duncan Hannay, and several other OLGers last week at a few of our Ontario destinations: Casino Ajax, Shorelines Casino Belleville, Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands, Shorelines Casino Peterborough, and Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs. These five special destinations have generated nearly $240 million for their communities, through OLG, as a gaming host community which support critical infrastructure projects, community grants and other special projects to keep their communities thriving. Thank you for visiting, Duncan! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that the Tri-City Transitions Society has been chosen as the PROUD Charity for 2024/2025 by the amazing team at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver. This vital organization provides a safe haven for women and children in our community, helping them find peace and rebuild their lives after facing domestic violence. Thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of our team, we were able to contribute $6,000 to support their essential services, including the Transition House and their exciting initiative to create a backyard playground and safe outdoor space for clients. Together, we’re making a difference—thank you for being part of this important journey! 💖 . . #CommunitySupport #TriCityTransitions #PROUD
