This year’s Beyond the Boards Summit, hosted by Hockey Canada, was a powerful and necessary conversation on the root causes of unhealthy behaviors that negatively impact those involved in the sport both on and off the ice. The discussions were thought-provoking, shedding light on how we can collectively work together to shift the culture of hockey toward respect, inclusivity, and safety for all.
A sincere thank you to all the speakers and panelists who brought their expertise and perspectives to the table. Your contributions are invaluable in creating meaningful change within our sport. I'd also like to express my deep appreciation to the organizing team, the Board of Directors, and all attendees for your support and active involvement. It's your passion and commitment that will help us drive forward this critical work. Big thanks to our amazing MC Marni Panas and to our keynotes Normand Hector and Mark Tewksbury C.C., M.S.M., OLY (he/him) for energetic and meaningful insights.
It’s clear that tackling these issues requires a unified approach. We must continue to collaborate, both within and outside the rink, to build a better, safer, and more respectful environment for future generations of hockey players, volunteers, coaches, parents, and all involved.
