  • The University of Florida College of Medicine Celebration of Research is their annual event recognizing their college’s research excellence. They aim to establish new collaborations and celebrate existing ones among faculty, postdocs, and graduate students — inspiring all their learners to become successful lifetime researchers. However, with more than 500 research posters and more than 1,000 attendees, their celebration requires a high level of organization. "The Fourwaves platform has centralized everything into one convenient location, both for organizers and attendees. Our team is able to efficiently review posters submitted by investigators and make them public to view on the day of the event. Fourwaves also streamlines our calendar of events, maps, and other details for easy access by everyone! Thanks to the platform, our event continues to thrive and commemorate the achievements of our college." -Todd Barnash, Research Administration Manager

Transforming the Molecular and Cellular Cognition Society's approach to managing their annual event, which took place in Chicago this year, especially as they collected payments for the first time, was Dr.Karyn Frick’s goal. "Centralizing everything—from payments to refunds—gave us peace of mind, allowing us to focus on delivering a successful event instead of being tied up in logistical details." said Dr. Karyn Frick, a distinguished professor and neuroscience expert at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. "The real game-changer was the financial side—we didn’t have to manage credit cards, and the administrative dashboard gave us a complete overview of participants, registrations, and finances in one place. It truly was a one-stop solution. We even set up a QR code for last-minute, on-site registrations, which eliminated the hassle of manual check-ins." The financial tools were crucial for Dr. Frick and the MCCS team: ✅ Real-time tracking of registrations and submissions ✅ Effortless payment management and reporting ✅ Simple refund processing when necessary ✅ Clear data to finalize catering and assess profitability "Fourwaves made the entire event management process seamless. The platform was intuitive, and the registration process ran flawlessly." Curious about seeing how your next research event could look like?

  • Under the leadership of Lorien Lake-Corral, Ph.D., Professor of Sociology, the University of Maine at Augusta successfully organized the UMA Student Research Conference again this year. Her goal: to create a seamless and efficient experience for participants. “After our annual conference grew too large to manage by hand, Fourwaves' organizational tools and professional interface made putting on this year’s event a breeze. Our participants and presenters reported a smooth experience registering, submitting their work, and participating in the day’s events. We are already looking forward to next year’s conference!” With Fourwaves, Professor Lake-Corral and her team are now able to dedicate more time to supporting student research and fostering community engagement. If UMA can simplify their event management, why not your institution? • The quality of submissions can make or break your conference. Enter the blind review and multiple review processes—game-changers for ensuring fairness, diversity, and credibility in abstract management. Why Blind Reviews? Anonymity matters. By concealing author identities, we eliminate biases that can skew evaluations, allowing the content to shine through. The Strength of Multiple Reviews? More eyes mean better evaluations. Engaging multiple reviewers enhances accuracy and captures diverse perspectives, ensuring comprehensive assessments. Curious about best practices for implementing these processes?
