In September 2024, Canada welcomed 1.8 million overnight visitors. While this marked a slight 3% dip compared to September 2023 due to fewer travellers from the US, France, Germany, and Mexico, year-to-date overnight arrivals are still up 9% year-over-year, fuelled by steady growth from most DC key markets.

Canada’s brand is about openness. Open spaces, open minds and open hearts. Our diversity of cultures and two official languages, builds on the rich, original diversity of Indigenous peoples across this land. This makes us unique in North America. Looking forward, our competitiveness is about opportunity – about unleashing the full potential of tourism," Marsha Walden, President & CEO, Destination Canada #TIACCongress2024 Tourism Industry Association of Canada
