  • The 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 & 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 30𝘁𝗵 is an opportunity for us in Canada to honour the resilience, dignity, and strength of survivors and intergenerational survivors, while also remembering those who never came home. This week, in addition to providing information and educational resources to our network of team members, our parent company's community giveback initiative, 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 donated $10,000 to the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀' 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 (www.irsss.ca).    In the spirit of our values: We Love People, Connection, Challenge, and Growth, we invite you all to share support on this day, wear orange, and continue on our combined path to reconciliation and empathy.

  • Lights 💡 Camera 🎥 ACTION! 🎬 Earlier this Summer, Chop Steakhouse & Bar Vaughan was delighted to be the host of the official Vaughan International Film Festival (VFF) afterparty. Organized over two nights with 200 attendees welcomed, 2024 marks the 3rd year of this exciting local partnership. Special guests in attendance included Bernard Weiser (Supervising Sound Editor & President of the Entertainment Industry Professionals Mentoring Alliance - EIPMA), 𝗞𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗿 (Director & Writer, The Steak), 𝗟𝘂𝗶𝗴𝗶 𝗗𝗶 𝗙𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗲 (Actor, Shooting Watermelons), Mark Lanza MPSE (Sound Supervisor, Sony Pictures Studios), 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲 (Director & Writer, The Pleasure is All Mine), and this year’s Sandra Piccolo: Trailblazer Award recipient, Kimberly Jimenez (Senior Vice President of Post Production Services, Sony Pictures Entertainment). Based in a neighboring city of Toronto, VFF celebrated the 13th edition of the festival this year. The popular event aims to provide a platform supporting both experienced and aspiring filmmakers while building valued in-person connections between independent creators and film fans. The VFF team received a record number of entries with over 200 different films from 40 countries across the globe submitted for consideration. Narrowed down to 17 fantastic features from 10 countries, including Brazil, Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, the scene was set for the most anticipated screenings yet. We are incredibly proud to be a part of this annual collaboration, supporting this incredible not-for-profit organization with ensuring future investment and security for the future of the short film industry. Congratulations to all the team members involved with this successful event, we’re already looking forward to next year.

  • Our core values are at the heart of everything we do. Participating in the Northland Cares program is just one of the important give-back initiatives that allow us to connect with the members of our local communities and let them know they always have our support. Earlier this year, Northland Cares collaborated with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada for a second time to organise the 𝑩𝑰𝑮 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔. The main aim of this event was to bring families together to give them the chance to reconnect and enjoy some quality time, without the impact of day-to-day worries. It was our honour to help host 40 families in 4 locations across Canada and treat them to an experience of the best in Canadian hospitality. From exciting group activities to a movie night in the Sandman Hotels, with delicious family meals in Chop Steakhouse & Bar, Denny's Canada, and Moxies, it was truly a weekend to remember. Thank you to all of our team members for making the 𝑩𝑰𝑮 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 such a success and we can't wait to welcome everyone back again.
