Members of CESA recently voted in favour of a plan to amalgamate CESA’s operations in British Columbia with the Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA). The amalgamation will take effect on October 1, 2024. Going forward from this date, EPRA will provide compliance and program administration for small appliances and other products currently handled by CESA. Until then, operations remain status quo – for members reporting and remittance all the way through collection and processing. As more information is available about the transition, it will be shared in a timely manner with all of our stakeholders. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Selanders, President, CESA at [email protected]

Managing small appliance and power tool recycling programs on behalf of manufacturers and retailers since 2011.
About us
The Canadian Electrical Stewardship Association (CESA) is a federally incorporated, not-for-profit organization that manages recycling programs for small appliances, power tools, and other household electrical products. CESA's vision is to be the preferred service provider in all Canadian provinces with extended producer responsibility (EPR) legislation in place for small appliances and power tools. We develop and operate recycling programs to assist manufacturers, brand owners and other legally obligated parties in satisfying provincial EPR regulations to responsibly manage the collection and processing of products at end-of-life. With 430+ members, CESA represents a large number of industry members and complex range of household electrical products. In British Columbia you likely know us as ElectroRecycle, the province's small appliance and power tool recycling program. CESA has efficiently managed ElectroRecycle for 10 years and diverted over 40 million kilograms of small appliances and power tools from B.C. landfills.
