  • 9 Career Pitfalls That Will Cost You Years by Dr. Dupe Burgess I love finding new content creators that help me communicate my own journey without my having to spend hours creating my own content or updating the content of others in a new format so that I be called a content creator. I keep thinking what is old is new again just in different packaging. Here is what I ended up learning from over 45 years working in supply chain. 1. Don't stay too long in your comfort zone. I have worked for over 100 companies and it is amazing how much you can learn if you change both companies and jobs. 2. Build your personal brand: this is what I have been doing by posting every business day for over 400 days. What I post is who I am and what I am interested in. I now have a much stronger brand and in 2025 my focus will be to help double QCsolver Inc. followers. Slowly I will be posting less content on my personal profile and concentrating on adding value to the QCsolver Inc. page. You just might want to start to follow QCsolver Inc. if you enjoy reading what I post. 3. I love the concept of feedback for improvement. Any time I hear a complaint I tend to think of what could we have done better or different. I don't like the word criticism as often it is a complaint without the person offering a potential solution. 4. I don't neglect my network and I don't want to be the person who always reaches out when they want something. Lately I have been wishing people happy birthday just so that I can let them know I am thinking about them. Don't be the person who says I was thinking about "you" but never does anything about it. 5. Everything is negotiable when it comes to the job 6. Soft skills are just as important as hard skills. I would prefer someone with trainable skills versus someone with great hard skills and a bad attitude. 7. Waiting for your chance: I seek challenges and opportunities and welcome people who bring me complex problems that need a practical solution. 8. Under promise and over deliver as much as you can. Admit when you are wrong and fix the problem versus wishing it would go away. 9. Keep on learning and the best way is to increase your network and your willingness to try something new. Hope this helps!

  • How to allocate your BI budget in 2025? The first step is to have a budget. If you are in supply chain that means you don't have one or you have one that you don't control. Business Intelligence (BI) is a quickly growing trend. At QCsolver Inc., we have determined that having the ability to offer this type of service was going to a very valuable tool in our quest to gain new clients. Earlier this year we hired Diksha Kumawat to help Rachel Ford and they have teamed up to wow our customers with the variety of reports and the speed of their responsiveness. Lat month we added another member to our team and Sumukh Dhawade has already helped us created an automated workflow process which should save our Customer Service Manager Victoria Woudsma countless number of hours. I don't remember who created this content but I do appreciate how they have provided me with an understanding of who uses BI and why.

  • Managing Internal Risk in Construction Owners are always going to be risk adverse and especially when it comes to construction projects. The whole idea of what to do and how to protect yourself is now more top of mind than ever before. Why is this happening? Infrastructure aging in Canada is driving a lot of projects. Keep in mind that Canada experienced the baby boom. It wasn't just babies that boomed. There were also the schools, hospitals, roads and other capital assets. They are all now in need of major repairs including the boomers. More projects means more work and the concept of open fair and transparent can lead to new players entering the market. Some of them are great and others might need extra scrutiny. Aqeel Bin Shoukat MCIPS, PMP, RMP, MCIArb, CMILT, CSCM℗, L6σ deserves the credit for this hand out. Please keep in mind that QCsolver Inc. can help organizations collect, track and monitor the various types of certifications needed by the owners to help them prove they are working with qualified companies. #cor #whmis #ohsa #safety You also might want to check out educational offerings by Ontario Public Buyers Association, NISCL (National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders) and NISCL BC (National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders). Or bring on a partner to help you with the process.

  •  5 Signs You Need a Procurement Partner When I was younger I thought I could do everything myself. I did not need help and asking for help was considered a weakness. Now I know that not asking for help is the most ridiculous thing that I can imagine. How is it possible for you to know everything or to learn everything? It isn't. Why not speed up the process and bring in a few new partners to give you a hand. Of course you should consider Cambridge Solutions Inc or QCsolver Inc. as both companies offer services that are efficient, practical and affordable. If you need ideas on where to start then I would highly recommend you take a look at the attached document created by Andrew Wolfe. After all Wolfe Procurement is a QCsolver Inc. trusted partner.

  • 3 ways to fail in 2025 Now you might think that I was hired by Tanya W. to be her publicist. Yet sadly I wasn't. I am just a huge fan of her content. Almost every day she gets me thinking and inspired. When I reviewed this post, I then focused on the second way to fail as this is the one that frustrates me the most. Especially when it comes to working in the public sector. Suppliers can contribute a lot. New suppliers can come with great ideas that would enable organizations to be more productive. Except that there is a concern that side conversations might not be open, fair or transparent. Which granted is a logical reason for being concerned. You might be able to gather more information by going to a conference, setting up a reverse trade show or issuing a request for information. These can be done but aren't always effective. From my perspective why not have a "come to us with a good idea" week. This is where any company can set up a 30 minute appointment and pitch the organization with their new idea. Now you would have to put in some guidelines of your own choosing so that you are not overwhelmed with requests but it can be done. Can't wait for 2025!

  • Procurement Tech Map You should check out the latest publication from James Meads and his Procurement Software site. You will find QCsolver Inc. in the Supplier Relationship management section. I should also point out that we could also be in a few other areas and I thought I would mention them just in case you are curious. QCsolver is primarily a service company that uses software to keep our clients organized. We also help with Contract & Risk Management, under threshold (VOR) sourcing and quotes, category management, ESG and data analytics. Why not check out what we have to offer.

  • 15 worst practices in procurement Which one would you pick? Are there any missing? Where do you need help? This handout was produced by ConvergentIS and I thought that this would be a great way to get people to start thinking about what they might want to do next. This is the time of year where I start to think about what I will be doing differently in 2025. Not resolutions but rather plans and goals. These are a few of the worst practices that QCsolver Inc. can help you with. 1. Supplier management 2. Spend Analytics 3. Contract management 4. Risk management 5. Automate manual processes 6. Improved data quality 7. Focus on diversity and inclusion in your supply based 8. Supplier onboarding 9. Leveraging technology 10. Long term goal planning You will have to read the handout to determine which parts of the problem we solve. After all "solve" is our company's middle name. Service with a smile.
