Driving the Future of Automotive Innovation in #Brampton! In 2022, the federal and provincial governments announced a transformative investment of over $1 billion to help Stellantis retool its Canadian auto plants—including the Brampton Assembly Plant. Alongside this, Stellantis committed an additional $2.4 billion toward electrification projects, reinforcing their role as a global leader in sustainable automotive innovation. Currently, Stellantis is installing a flexible assembly line at the Brampton facility to produce battery-electric and hybrid vehicles, positioning the plant to meet the growing demand for low-emission vehicles. This retooling not only diversifies production capabilities but also strengthens Brampton’s role in advancing the future of automotive manufacturing. The Stellantis Brampton Assembly Plant is a cornerstone of our local economy, providing approximately 3,000 direct jobs and generating as many as five to six indirect jobs per automotive role across the province. This transaction also opened new opportunities for 32 acres of surplus lands identified for complementary employment uses, ensuring optimized development aligned with community needs. As we continue to work with Stellantis and the new landowners, Brampton remains committed to fostering collaboration and economic growth in the EV and automotive sectors. A special thank you to our partners: City of Brampton, Arcadis, Avison Young | Canada, Amy DiGiovanni and Sanjiv Chadha, SIOR, MCR If you're interested in investing in Brampton, contact the Invest Brampton - Economic Development Office to learn more.
