BizBridge.io is proud to have been one of 9 emerging Canadian fintechs to have been selected (out of 60+) and graduated from Fintech Cadence's Ascension program! Over the 11-week program, with the help of the program, we were able to introduce us to dozens of key connections - from leading VCs to financial instutitions to service providers, all while joining a great group of peer founders. As BizBridge looks to build partnerships across Canada to get succession plans and happy exits for small business owners -- getting a sounding board from institutions, finding distribution partners, and building long-term relationships with investors is key. Grateful to the program leadership of Layial El-Hadi, Geraldine Holliday and team for their workshops, hands-on support, connections throughout the program! And also very grateful to the organizations, partners, mentors, and more who helped along the way. Ascension is a must for fintechs in Canada looking to level-up. Celebrating the unsung heroes of our communities: the BIAs! On Tuesday night, our CTO Winston Edwards and I were invited to attend the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) Awards celebrating the incredible work of the 84 BIAs - community-based organizations representing the businesses and commercial property owners across the city who mission is to drive economic development and improvements in their communities. Those parkettes you stroll through, those summer street festivals you love, the graffitti cleanups? That's probably your BIA that did it. At BizBridge.io we've been working with BIAs, the Small Business Enterprise Centre in Toronto and others across the province to help keep our communities beautiful and avoid those unsightly vacant storefronts by ensuring transitioning businesses can find their happy exit, and hopefully, a new owner to sustain their legacy.
