A Heartfelt Thank You to the Fraser Valley Realtors Charitable Foundation On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude and a heartfelt thank you to the Fraser Valley Realtors Charitable Foundation for their incredible generosity in providing us with a grant to support our community-based mentoring program. This funding will directly assist us in continuing our work of empowering and mentoring youth who face challenges in the Langley community. Thanks to the Foundation's commitment, we are now better equipped to create lasting positive change in the lives of those who need it most. The story behind the Foundation’s creation is one that inspires us all. Over 50 years ago, a group of visionary Realtors from the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board purchased 3.5 acres of land in the Guilford area of Surrey, which they later sold back to the board at the same price with the explicit instruction that the proceeds be used for the betterment of the community. Their foresight and generosity have since transformed the lives of countless individuals, creating an enduring legacy of support for vulnerable members of our region. We were also honored to hear from Dr. Ian Macnaughton, one of the five Realtors who initially had the vision for this transformative project. His insights and dedication to the Foundation’s mission have deeply inspired us and further solidified the lasting impact of their contributions. The Foundation’s ongoing commitment to addressing homelessness, crime, and youth disengagement has made a profound difference in our local communities. Like the Fraser Valley Realtors Charitable Foundation, we at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley believe that to make a real difference, we must focus on the root causes, not just the symptoms, of youth vulnerability. Their most recent granting cycle contributed $340,000 in funding to organizations across the Fraser Valley - a profound impact for charities across the region. With the support of organizations like the Fraser Valley Realtors Charitable Foundation, we are able to create lasting positive change for young people in need. These funds will help us provide mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for the youth who need it most, ensuring they have the tools and resources to succeed and build a better future for themselves and their communities. A special thank you to Christiane Hodson, Executive Director, and the board of directors of the Fraser Valley Realtors Charitable Foundation, for your ongoing leadership and dedication to improving the lives of youth in our community. Once again, thank you to the Fraser Valley Realtors Charitable Foundation for your commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of youth throughout the Fraser Valley. Warm regards, Roslyn Henderson Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley #ThankYou #CommunitySupport #BigBrothersBigSisters #FraserValleyRealtors #MentorshipMatters

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley creates individual and group mentoring relationships among adults and youth.
About us
We create, facilitate and monitor mentoring relationships between volunteers and children enrolled in our agency. Through an extensive screening process and training, we are able to provide safe and healthy relationships to children and youth throughout our local Langley community. Through the time that young people's brains are still developing, our mentors can support and guide their mentees as they face challenges such as mental health, school issues, and identity. In addition, societal barriers and adversities such as detrimental living conditions, family violence, and poverty can affect the development of a child. We are here to help ignite the potential that is in all children and youth through the power of mentoring. We are #biggertogether.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley is celebrating 50 years of making a difference, and I’m reflecting on what this milestone means to me. When I first joined BBBS in 2006, I didn’t realize just how deeply this work would become a part of my life. From starting as a Mentoring Coordinator to now serving as Executive Director, it's been an incredible journey, one that has truly shaped who I am today. In my latest article, I share my thoughts on our organization's evolution, the challenges we've faced, and the people who make BBBS Langley such a special community. It’s not just about programs or events, it’s about the real, lasting connections that change lives. I’m proud to be part of an organization that has such a profound impact on youth, and I’m excited for the next chapter. I’d love for you to read and reflect on our shared journey, and I invite you to join us in shaping the future for young people in Langley. #BBBSLangley50 #MakingADifference #MentoringJourney #YouthDevelopment #LangleyCommunity #BuildingBridges #LifeChangingConnections #BBBSFamily #EmpowerYouth #FutureLeaders #CelebrateMentorship #StrongerTogether #VolunteerImpact #LangleyProud #MentorForChange #BBBSMilestone #InspireAndGrow #TogetherWeCan #MentoringMatters #YouthSuccess #LangleyBC
