[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: APT
Version: N/A
Severity: Wishlist
Architecture: All

Conary is a novel GPL-incompatible package manager which downloads only the
portions of a package which include changes from the package currently
installed, greatly reducing bandwidth strain on the repository severs, and
greatly speeding up updates for users.

While I am not a programmer (otherwise I'd have just submitted a proposed
patch with this wishlist), this cannot be too much more difficult that
running a diff comparison on the installed package configuration, and the
updated one, and then just downloading and overwriting those files which are
different.

Hence this would be a great addition to the marvelous package manager which
is apt (and one of the reasons I wont use rPath linux, is its not debian
based, heh).

=)

Regards,

Matthew
