  • 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐊𝐡𝐞𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐚, 𝐃𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚 The Foundation, in collaboration with two technical officials from the Agriculture Machinery and Technology Centre (AMTC), Paro, conducted an awareness program for the local community of Khebisa, Dagana. The session included visual and PowerPoint presentations on the Internet of Things (IoT)-based technologies for Human-Wildlife Conflict, such as the Timer-Based Mechanism and the Tiger Mechanism, which includes solar panels for renewable energy applications. These updated versions have been successfully implemented in Langthil (Trongsa), Zhemgang, and Sarpang in the past. Key Highlights: 1. Community Feedback and Discussion: • AMTC officials shared success stories and community feedback from previous implementations. • An interactive discussion was held to gather input and opinions from the local community about adopting these technologies. 2. Organic Certification Process: • We initiated the organic certification process by collecting relevant data and information from the community. 3. Field Assessment for IoT Technology Installation: • Conducted field visits to assess feasibility for installation, considering the area, number of households, and required measurements. 4. Agricultural Crop Production Review: • Visited agricultural fields in Shemgang to review crop production and identify areas for improvement. The activity is part of the "Enhance the Resilience of the Grassroots Communities to Adapt to Climate Change through the Promotion of Agroforestry" project funded by Stiftung Drittes Millennium ( The Foundation for the Third Millennium) We want to thank the facilitators, the @Agriculture Machinery and Technology Centre (AMTC), Paro, for their support, and all the communities for making this training successful. #smartagriculture #HWCC #organiccertification #agroforestry

  • "It was in the next morning assembly when I saw Her Majesty and the Tarayana logo for the first time when she addressed the students. In fact, I had yet to learn why they visited our school and what we were supposed to do. Standing in the scorching sun was worth the time when we were given many gifts like trekking shoes, ghos, towels, soaps, toothbrushes, tracksuits, and an envelope with Nu. 250 each. Wow! That amount was a whole year’s expense for a student like me. The one thing that captured my attention was the trekking boot, thick-soled and brownish-colored. As the distribution of gifts began, all of my friends received their share and rushed to the hostel happily. Then I stared at my feet. I was wearing my favorite blue water-boot. I was excited to upgrade my blue water boot with a brand new tracking shoe therefore, my full attention was only on the shoes. While my mates each found their perfect size and claimed theirs, I was left disappointed when my size was out of stock, forcing me to wear my blue water boot for the entire year." #youthempowerment #givingbacktothecommunity #ruralstruggles #servicebeneficiaries #servicefromtheheart #YouthMatters
