Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) has an opportunity in Stratford, CT for a Summer 2023 Software Engineering intern supporting the eTech Mission Systems organization.
In this role, you will work closely with a team of engineers to develop operational application software.
As a member of our Software Engineering team you will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals.
The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.
Position Responsibilities performed in a supportive/assistive capacity: • Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software to design, modify, implement and integrate software programming for target systems using agile methods.
• Write source code for new applications, and/or generate and enhance code for existing applications.
• Perform code reviews, optimize algorithms, and conduct experiments to ensure the functionality and performance of products or solutions.
• Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
• Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Basic Qualifications: - Pursuing a BS Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent STEM computing field - Academic or professional experience using C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or similar programming languages Desired Skills: - Basic understanding of software development methodologies and software configuration management - Basic understanding of full software life-cycle development - Experience with Git/GitLab, Visual Studio, or Atlassian products Clearance Level: None Other Important Information You Should Know Expression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
