Petrobras began drilling well 4-BRSA-1392D-ESS in the Jubarte field, at a water depth of 968 meters. The site is part of the Parque das Baleias, #offshore south of Espírito Santo, in the Campos Basin and is one of the main oil producers in Brazil. The Brazilian oil company conducts the activity with the Brava Star drillship, from Constellation. The vessel is the most modern unit in the Constellation fleet. It was designed to operate in water depths of up to 12,000 feet (approximately 3,658 meters) and has a drilling capacity of up to 40,000 feet (approximately 12,192 meters). "About a month ago, the #FPSO Maria Quitéria left China heading to Brazil. It will operate in the Jubarte Field, with an estimated production of 100 thousand barrels of oil per day from 2025. This milestone was reached within the estimated time frame of eight months due to the promptness of the unit’s oil treatment and gas compression systems, including the good productivity of the well in the Mero Basin. The undersea interconnection process also helped reach top production since 100% of the wells were interconnected in advance—5 months before the contractual milestones. In this regard, the Petrobras technicians reduced the time of this activity by 18%, consequently speeding up the FPSO’s gradual increase in oil production, known as ramp-up. The

Brazil FPSO start-up alert! Petrobras has brought the Maria Quiteria FPSO online, six months ahead of schedule, at the Nova Jubarte field in the Campos Basin. This field comprises the Jubarte, Baleia Ana, Cachalote, Caxareu, Pirambu, and Manganga accumulations. It produced ~110,000 bbl/d in August 2024 through the P-57, P-58, and Cidade Anchieta FPSOs. Petrobras holds 100% of the concession. The new 100,000 bbl/d FPSO is part of Nova Jubarte's revitalization and produces along with the other three FPSOs. The Maria Quiteria, leased from Yinson, is equipped with low-emission technologies to enhance production efficiency and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 24%. By year-end, Petrobras also plans to bring the Mal. Duque de Caxias FPSO (Mero) and potentially Alm. Tamandare FPSO (Buzios) online.

Development of the offshore wind sector is the theme of an event in Rio de Janeiro - David Southerland By Celso Chagas (BrasilEnergia) Interest in the development of the offshore wind sector in South America and all related topics will be debated in Rio de Janeiro during South America Offshore Wind 2024. Launched in 2023 by Quest Offshore, the event's second edition was held at the Sheraton Hotel from September 17 to 19. The conference covered expert views on project permit planning and related topics, with developers sharing views on their portfolios. The organizers’ goal is to bring supply and demand together and facilitate project commercialisation. “South America Offshore Wind, in its 2nd edition, was consolidating itself as an event aimed at foreign investors in partnership with national ones, as it was held in English and focused on attractive panels for international companies to understand the regulatory, environmental and financial status of the development of the wind industry in Brazil. Thus, expectations are high regarding networking and learning about new points of view on the subject”, says Juliana Melcop from Veirano Advogados. The lawyer, who will mediate one of the panels on the first day of the conference, highlights that the industry interested in the offshore wind segment in Brazil is eagerly awaiting the approval and sanction of the legal framework. “We are fighting for the government to not only provide the law, through the approval of PL 576/2021 but also to indicate a schedule of regulations and incentives for the installation of the industry in the country, with the possibility of creating a pipeline of projects by companies. Thus, the event will echo the demands of companies and help boost their claims,” she argues. Investor interest and government action  Juliana highlighted to Brasil Energia that the need for forecasts for installing this market in the country is due to the lack of predictability of government action in the sector. According to the lawyer, one of the points of attention for companies interested in investing in the offshore wind segment in Brazil is the lack of criteria for the auction for the exploration of areas to be granted by the government. She points out that projects may become unfeasible if agents have to finance a very high amount to explore the seabed. “In addition to the auction bid, companies also have to bear the cost of leasing the area and participating in energy production, which has the potential to become very expensive. At a stage where we are still developing technology, if the government sets prices too high, companies will not want to invest and will disengage,” she said. EXXONMOBIL MAKES OFFSHORE DISCOVERY IN ANGOLA AND SIGNS AGREEMENT TO BOOST EXPLORATION ON THE COUNTRY'S COAST ExxonMobil made a new oil discovery in Block 15, on the coast of Angola, and also signed an agreement for the recovery of additional research costs with the country's National Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG). The document was signed in Luana by the chairman of the ANPG Board of Directors, Paulino Jerónimo, and the general director of ExxonMobil, Katrina Fisher. Located at a depth of 1,200 meters, the Likembe-01 well in the Kizomba B development area in Block 15 is operated by ExxonMobil in partnership with Azule Energy, Equinor and Sonangol. It was drilled between February and April 2024 and crossed reservoirs of the Miocenae age, reaching a final depth of 3,013 meters, within the perimeter of the Kizomba B development area. According to ANPG, the Likembe-01 well is the first well drilled under the preliminary agreements of the incremental production project, with the objective of providing incentives to investors to produce additional volumes in concessions currently in production, as a fundamental strategy for the sustainable development of the Angolan oil sector. The incremental production project aims to maximize the recovery of hydrocarbons in oil concessions in production in the maritime zone of Angola, which involves adding new oil and expanding the economic attractiveness of new projects in mature fields and areas not yet developed. Therefore, additional hydrocarbon exploration activities in Block 15 should contribute to mitigate the sharp decline in production, ensuring the identification of additional resources that are commercially and economically viable in the light of the current production sharing agreement. #oil&gas #petroleum #petroleo #job #production #opportunities ExxonMobil

We are delighted to announce that KOGNITUS will participate in the 10th Brazilian Symposium on Geophysics (https://lnkd.in/dYB8wJtt) in Salvador, NE Brazil, to present our work on the automated prediction of fracture zones in multi-azimuth pre-stack seismic data using deep learning. To address the challenge of identifying and mapping fractures at the limit of seismic data resolution, KOGNITUS has developed a methodology for recognizing fractured zones in pre-stack full-azimuth seismic data using Machine Learning techniques. Labeling data for model training relied on fracture density profiles obtained from borehole image logs. Data augmentation techniques and expert feedback, which allow the use of data extracted from predictions for training new networks, were employed to overcome training data scarcity. The methodology, developed in collaboration with Coppe/UFRJ and Petrobras, shows promising results and is a significant step forward in the field. 🚨 Breaking News: BP Now Set to Begin Drilling in the Pau-Brasil Well! 🚨 Exciting developments in the Santos Basin as BP Energy about to see published the license to commence drilling in the Pau-Brasil well, backed by the green light from Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis - Ibama . Valaris Limited DS-15 drillship is on location waiting for the license, following the oil spill drills. The rig daily rate is of $410,000 under an 80-day contract, amounting to a total of $33 million. Both the vessel and crew are on standby, ready to initiate the drilling operations, hopefully as from today. Currently contracted with TotalEnergies until September, the DS-15 drillship has a unique opportunity for short-term engagements. In 2024, the vessel was temporarily released for contracts with PETRONAS and now BP. Following this assignment, it will return to Total Energies, albeit at a reduced daily rate of $254,000. The Pau-Brasil well, acquired by bp in the 5th Sharing Round in 2018, sees a joint venture with CNOOC International Petroleum (30%) and Ecopetrol (20%). 3R Petroleum announced the signing of merger agreements with Enauta. With a combined market value of approximately R$14 billion, this transaction creates a leading and diversified platform in exploration and production (E&P), with 2P reserves estimated at around 700 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) and a projected production in 2025 of over 100,000 barrels per day (kbpd). The operation also simplifies the corporate structure by incorporating 3R Offshore, previously 15% owned by Maha Energy. This merger represents the largest consolidation move in the independent E&P market in Brazil, following a series of divestments by Petrobras over the past decade that contributed, among other factors, to the creation of 3R.
