0 - 40 hours per week - Regular, ongoing Work Schedule: 261 Days - 12 Months - July Salary Range 11: $104,966 - $157,449 Closing Date: May 2, 2024 Summary: At the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Opportunity and Access, the Director of STEAM provides visioning, leadership, and instructional action planning in Science, Math, Fine & Performing Arts, Physical Education, and Social Studies.
Collaborate with College and Career Readiness team in the areas of Technology and Engineering.
Provide content leadership that includes but is not limited to evidence based instruction, culturally responsive practices, data driven assessment and instruction, standards expertise, professional learning and MTSS structures.
Additionally, the STEAM Director supports building leaders and schools to implement all components of the instructional infrastructure, as well as partners with other academic departments to ensure the district conditions related to content areas are enabling execution of Strategic Plan initiatives in schools.
Responsibilities: Provide content leadership in instructional programming and use of curricular materials to ensure cultural responsiveness and standards alignment.
Create, organize, and implement systems and structures that support effective implementation of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
Serves as assessment owner for content area assessments and advises on their administration, data visualization, and analyses in conjunction with the Assessment department and in alignment with data driven instructional practices.
Directly support building leaders to efficiently leverage instruction and assessment tools to enhance their instructional leadership in their building.
Support and champion district strategic planning and implementation of district-wide instructional initiatives.
Collaborate with other members of the district leadership team to direct, coordinate, and/or support instructional priorities.
Lead, train, and evaluate the TOSA of Math, TOSA of Science, Coordinator of Fine Arts, Performing Arts and PE, and TOSA of Social Studies to ensure they can effectively coach, consult, and collaborate with teachers and leaders in their content area.
Academic Department Collaboration Consults, designs, and plans with multiple departments, including but not limited to: College and Career Readiness- Engineering and Technology; Academic Service- Ensure cohesiveness of course offerings, review and vet new course proposals, and support materials adoption processes; MTSS Department- Ensure intervention programming and progress monitoring tools are available, accessible and aligned to systems of support; Professional Learning Department- Design, lead, coordinate, and/or facilitate content area professional learning sessions; CLDE Department- Ensure instructional materials and supports meet needs of dual language schools and multilingual learners; Data & Assessment Team- Gather and analyze state and common assessment data for schools.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required: Master’s Degree plus additional coursework required for certification or licensure in a major pertinent to the position requirements.
Minimum of three years experience in: Content area experience + leadership role types.
Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application.
Must have a valid Administrative License/Professional Principals License.
Must have a valid Colorado driver's license.
Preferred: Experience as a school leader.

substantive knowledge about Colorado Academic Standards with preference given to expertise in Mathematics.
Effective communication skills- ability to speak, write, listen, visualize data, synthesize and summarize large amounts of information.
Knowledge of dual language programming.
In depth knowledge of evidence based culturally responsive instructional practices.
Bilingual English/Spanish Salary Information: Salary Range 11:$104,966 - $157,449 Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule).
BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs.
a salary negotiation process.
