An ascension to optimism; a friendly reminder from Justin that every day is a new day that has new adventures to experience. And although there are no promises of happines, you should actively seek out postivity in these days of paranoia and confusion rather than living in a constant state of fear.

BI: Season 5
Episode 1
“PILOT”
In an effort to provide direct support to healthcare providers working on the frontline of the pandemic, we're releasing a brand-new track called "PDLIF" on digital services today. 100% of proceeds will be directed to Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization working to protect workers and patients alike. It is an unexpected season for, well, an unexpected season.
After having been shown the latest Alabaster dePlume record by Drew Christopherson, Justin Vernon was immediately drawn to the track "Visit Croatia". He shared the track with collaborator Jim-E Stack who chopped a beat from dePlume's influential track. "PDLIF" is based on that sample.
Produced by Vernon, Stack, and BJ Burton, "PDLIF" was recorded at April Base. In addition to Vernon playing and singing, the track includes the work of musicians Stack (drum programming), Kacy Hill (vocals), Joseph K Rainey, Sr. (vocals), Eli Teplin (piano), Devin Hoffman (bass guitar), and Rob Moose (string arrangements and additional piano). Lyrics were written by Hill, dePlume, Vernon, and Michael Lewis. "PDLIF" was mixed by Burton, edited by Burton and Vernon, and mastered by Huntley Miller. Though recorded and produced in isolation, the track traveled far, from one contributor to the next. It serves as a subtle reminder that, though apart, we're never alone; the strength of collaboration and community remains strong as ever.
Direct Relief is coordinating with public health authorities, nonprofit organizations, and businesses in the U.S. and worldwide to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to health workers responding to coronavirus (COVID-19).
Bon Iver believes in amplifying the good, giving back to those most in need, and rallying around our global community. We hope you'll join us.
Father John Misty is so good to listen to when I want to relax. My cat used to seem to like the music too, and we would both chill and listen to the FJM vinyls I own. This album on bandcamp was a nice FJM treat. Michelle May
