After two years concentrated in the making, Cristian Varela -a staple in the
Techno Music scene for over 3 decades- is releasing his eagerly anticipated new
studio album.
‘My Way’, that’s how the LP is titled, marks a significant milestone in Varela's
career and promises to energize dance floors worldwide, delivering an intense
and immersive musical experience.
“A genre-defying visionary”
Prepare for an electrifying journey through the pulsating realms of scifi and
Techno. ‘My Way’ aims to become an escape route for anyone. Naturally uplifting
at the same time introspective, cinematic and deep as abyss.
Cristian Varela remains true to his eclecticism, solidly combining the textures of
contemporary electronic music with edgy analogue synthesizers, atmospheric
pads, chunky drums, industrial patterns, organic layers and of course, the energy
of mighty techno sounds his extensive career is so rooted in.
The Spanish Techno-legend (now based in London) attested once, and talking
about the relationship between the 'sound' aspects of music and the
'composition', that “there is a great connection between sounds, creativity and
production. Ideas sometimes come through modulation or just transforming a
sound … suddenly after the metamorphosis, a track comes into my head like
inspiration.” That’s how the new album is a dynamic carousel, a twelve track trip
meandering between various shades of concepts and distinctive moods. A
journey with room for the darkest side of Electro (‘Ultrahuman’), retro-futuristic
and relentless Techno (‘Earendel’, ‘Asymmetric’, ‘Helion’) as well as emotionally
Ambient music (‘Intron1ka’, ‘WASP103B’) and a jaw-dropping EBM cut fueled with
rock-oriented backbeats (‘Yknalb’).
It is proven once again. Cristian Varela is synonymous with Music, Passion &
Respect. Exactly, just as the documentary-film released a few years ago, where it
was already exemplified he is one of the most influential and longest-standing
figureheads -since the early 1990s- of the Electronic Music Scene worldwide. Also
