"We're excited to grow in Europe!" they began, "We were really considering an Employer of Record (EOR) solution to manage the payroll in all countries, but we don't understand why this won't work in Belgium. Can you explain?" 🌍 We clarified, "Belgian law prohibits employers from placing employees at a client's disposal if the client exercises any employer authority over them. This practice is restricted to temporary work agencies." 🚫 The company's representatives nodded. 🤔 🤔 🤔 So what's going on in the Belgian labor market for Payroll & Reward profiles? We are looking for a new colleague (employee!) at Isabel Group. We thought / think we have a lot to offer: a healthy, growing business. A small cosy HR team with a lot of expertise and sense of humor, a heck of a payroll & reward manager (personality & skills!) to work together with and learn from. A very, very extensive salary & benefits package, meaning you can learn a lot about all reward components (and you get them yourself 😎 ). I could go on for a while. And yet, it has proven to be extremely difficult for us and the recruitment agencies to find someone. But especially this: the "solution" the market seems to have for us, is 850 to 1100 EUR/day (!!!) for a medior profile. 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent. That's a yearly cost to company of 200.000 EUR+ for consultants often on the payroll of the provider, costing what? 70k/year total reward? I am simplifying and rounding but the ball park reasoning is correct. So a 130.000 EUR / 200% margin to "help" your client. 🤔 Anyway, if you ARE a payroller on the payroll looking for a cool job in payroll on the payroll 😜, let's talk.
