I often get questions about how commercial coconut milk kefir, such as Maison’s Riviera brand, is different from The Cultured Coconut. Table grapes are often found in my shopping cart at this moment, as there is an abundant supply of great-tasting and attractively-priced grapes either from Spain or Italy at this time of the year. Zooming out on the longer term, supply of grapes produced in Europe is decreasing. And growers are changing to new varieties. This has pros and cons, but I trust that eventually, these developments will result in better quality #tablegrapes for the consumer and healthy margins for the grower. Today, La Lorraine Bakery Group NV (LLBG) published its 2023 financial results. LLBG realized a revenue of 1.36 billion EUR. This strong revenue growth of 16% is driven by investments in new production capacity in Europe and innovations in its core product categories. The REBITDA margin as a percentage of revenue was 13.9%, a strong recovery after a more difficult year of strong inflation in 2022. Sustainability remains a key pillar of LLBG's strategy, with a first significant reduction of its carbon footprint. By 2028, LLBG aims to grow sales in Europe, Turkey and the Middle East by more than 50%, through strong innovation while reducing its ecological impact. "To achieve this ambition, the employees of La Lorraine Bakery Group NV Bakery Group are crucial. In 2024 alone we plan to recruit 400 additional employees, 100 of them in Belgium, and roll up our sleeves together to make a difference", states Guido Vanherpe, Group CEO at LLBG. With a turnover of nearly EUR 3 billion in 2024 and a presence in 100 countries, the LE DUFF Group plans to accelerate its growth in the bakery market, as the recent acquisition made by its subsidiary, BRIDOR, shows. Through this acquisition, BRIDOR builds on the strategy of LE DUFF Group, which credits its success to priorizing “quality and indulgence on the plate for the well-being of consumers,” according to Louis Le Duff, Founding Chairman of the Group. Philippe Morin, Worldwide CEO, BRIDOR, commented on the news: “The acquisition of Pandriks is consistent with BRIDOR’s strategy.
