🔥 Antwerp will have a new tourist hotspot from mid-2025, with an expo on Antwerp's Golden Age 👇 🏛️ The Mercator-Orteliushuis in Kloosterstraat is one of the best-preserved urban villas in Antwerp. AG Vespa leases the fully restored building to Urban Mapping, which specialises in creating immersive experiences. From mid-2025, the historic building will be the setting for a unique and innovative expo with video projections about the city during its Golden Age (16th century). This visual and tourist interpretation will bring Antwerp's history back to life, in an appropriate setting and centrally located in the city. 💡 The Mercator-Ortelius House was built around 1550 and takes its name from the famous 16th-century cartographers Gerardus Mercator and Abraham Ortelius. Last week, Visit Antwerp was the proud host city for the 11th edition of City Destinations Alliance | CityDNA's Visitor Experience Expert Meeting. Visitor Centre Het Steen, a former castle and Antwerp's oldest building, was the ideal venue for this multi-day gathering.
