To cure all children with cancer, we want to amplify the voice of young patients and of parents of patients 🗣 - this is how we achieve this most recent aspect of our strategy, with a patients' committee 🤓 ❤️ In the last three years 65 dedicated experts completed their professional training 🙇♀️ thanks to the Patient Expert Center 🎓 - hurray! The preparations for our new campaign, #MadeWithPatientExperts, took us to the Empower Awards organized by Boehringer Ingelheim. 🏆 This inspiring program celebrates Belgian initiatives that enhance outcomes for patients with heart failure, diabetes, or chronic kidney disease. We're proud to see #PatientExpert Bert Maes from Diabetes Liga as one of the jury members, working alongside specialists, general practitioners, and nurses. 🤝 A heartfelt thank you to Bert, Inge Everaert, Jens Motmans, and Bart Legein for sharing your inspiring testimonials, which will be an integral part of our campaign. ✨ We’re proud to share that one of our amazing patient experts Mariangela Fiorente took the stage yesterday at the ‘Empowering Voices: Addressing the Specific Needs of AYA’s’ symposium organized by Sciensano’s Cancer Centre! 🌟✨ This event was all about highlighting the unique challenges faced by Adolescents and Young Adults (AYAs) with cancer — a group that needs specialized care 👩⚕️👨⚕️ distinct from children and older adults.
