What happens when the brightest minds in science gather in a 13th-century medieval hospital?...👇 ✨ A huge dose of knowledge-sharing, inspiration and connection! Last week, our Discovery Lead, Eline Blommaert, represented Paleo at the VIB Next Generation Synthetic Biology Conference in the stunning Bijloke site in Ghent. 🏰 Her talk, "Reviving a mammoth protein to change the future of plant-based food," got people talking - attendees couldn’t wait to share ideas 💡 and were already imagining tasting 🍔 our heme proteins in action one day. Eline and Victor also brought back valuable insights into: 🔬 Intelligent gene expression design 🧬 Protein stability prediction tools 🤖 Machine learning in synthetic biology … all aimed at driving sustainability. 🌍 And it wasn’t all work! The event was also a chance to reconnect with industry friends 👥, make new connections 🤝, and explore Ghent’s historic charm during a guided tour! How can Belgium attract visitors from Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Denmark, and France? The weather isn't the reason... 🌧️☁️ But new ideas are! 🚀 👇 Paleo hosted part of the Xplore Innovation Mission in Belgium last week. We welcomed an international group eager to explore Europe's thriving innovation ecosystem. Belgium proved it's a great place for ideas to grow, from precision fermentation to breakthroughs in food tech. At Paleo, we gave participants a real backstage tour🕵️♂️👀. Our scientists (thank you George C.
