No we're not in the plants business all the sudden. But there are some similarities between growing plants and doing marketing. For 1 thing, when you plant a seed and it takes root, it's not ready for harvest yet. You need to water and nurture the plant until it's big and strong and ready to be harvested. The same thing happens in marketing: lots of marketers like lead generation, and they expect all of those freshly generated leads to be sales ready immediately. But they take time to get there. Hence why we put a lot of emphasis on lead nurturing. So it might be wise to rethink your lead generation efforts a bit, and start taking into account that nurturing them until they are ready to buy can really help you achieve your company goals.
